The Department of Construction and Projects was established at the beginning of the formation of the Technological University in 1975 after it was separated from the University of Baghdad. The department was responsible for maintenance work on university facilities and supervising ongoing projects. During this period, several buildings representing the current scientific departments were constructed, and the Department of Construction and Projects played a role in overseeing the implementation of these projects. After the events of 2003, many projects were created, including adding floors, rehabilitating entire departments, and constructing new buildings for departments, branches, and newly established centers within the university. Maintenance and rehabilitation were also carried out on existing buildings using a trusted execution method. Our current goal is to establish an integrated university city to provide a suitable environment and atmosphere for studying, including housing for faculty members and university staff, integrated scientific departments, internal departments, and other educational and recreational facilities.
