Under the direct supervision of Prof. Dr. Farhad Mohammed Othman, Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, and Dr. Oday Hammoudi Abdullah, Head of the Construction and Projects Department, and with the participation of several department engineers, a series of key activities were carried out as part of the Presidential Annex building project, including:
Preparation of Second‑Floor Column Formwork: Column molds were meticulously set up strictly with engineering standards, ensuring full compatibility with the project’s technical designs.
Column Pouring: The columns were successfully cast on April 16, 2025, following all required technical procedures to guarantee a high-quality outcome.
Post‑Pour Phase: After casting, the concrete was cured for the specified period to achieve the necessary strength and stability. The formwork was then carefully stripped away using proper technical methods, and the columns were regularly water‑cured to secure correct concrete treatment and enhance durability.
This milestone reflects the Construction and Projects Department’s commitment to executing the project to the highest quality and technical standards. By applying best engineering practices, the department aims to deliver a solid and sustainable infrastructure that meets the university’s expanding needs and provides a modern, functional environment, underscoring the University of Technology’s dedication to continuous development.
