Preparing plans for investment projects in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Planning, according to the needs of the university, including the preparation of designs, buildings, and infrastructure, and obtaining the necessary approvals for implementation, as well as preparing space programs and studies for these projects. Additionally, the Department of Construction and Projects prepares quantity schedules for building refurbishment or maintenance work for all university facilities, as assigned by the respected university president, including auditing quantity schedules and architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing plans. These tasks are collected from the resident engineer departments or supervision and monitoring committees formed by the Department of Construction and Projects in collaboration with some scientific departments. The department also prepares and implements some ongoing budget projects by the directives of the university president. This is done in collaboration with international and local organizations and departments, such as the Baghdad Governorate, to finance some university projects. All the work of the Department of Construction and Projects is ultimately aimed at serving the university’s staff and students by providing modern and advanced buildings, halls, and laboratories that keep pace with urban and technological advancements in the country.
